Improving helmet hygiene so more riders and passengers choose safety every day.

Every day, millions of Kenyans rely on boda bodas to get to work, school, markets, and home. Helmets are proven to save lives — yet hygiene challenges make people avoid wearing them.
Helmets trap sweat, heat, and bacteria. Over time, they develop strong odors, damp interiors, and uncomfortable linings. Passengers often refuse to wear a rider's extra helmet because it feels dirty.
Riders themselves struggle to keep helmets clean while working long hours on the road.
Helmet Hub is the first helmet sanitation station built for Kenya's boda boda community. The machines use a fast and safe cleaning process to turn a sweaty, smelly helmet into one that feels clean and comfortable again – all in under 5 minutes.
“Sometimes helmets smell, and customers complain. A cleaning service nearby would save time.”
– Daniel (Boda Rider)
